Throughout the year the NBLS hold a number of events. Lace days, pop-ins and we also run a number of courses
We have 4 lace days a year. These are popular dates in our diaries, when we get together and bring along our lace to make and there is usually a display of members’ lace and craftwork.
We sometimes have suppliers attending so you can stock up on your thread and bobbins etc., plus there is often pre loved lace making equipment for sale and always a raffle in the afternoon.

These are more informal days where members and anyone interested in bobbin lace can pop in for all or part of the day and make lace, have a natter and a cuppa.
There is often pre loved lace making equipment for sale and always a raffle in the afternoon. Beginners are very welcome and there is always someone on hand to offer assistance.
Time : 10am – 4pm
Venue : Sherwood Community Centre, Mansfield Road, Nottingham NG5 3FN (opposite Woodthorpe Grange Park).
Cost : Member £5 Non Members £7

The NBLS runs a few courses and workshops throughout the year.
Our well loved summer residential weekend is open to both those wanting to stay in the hotel and those who wish to commute, and we have a number of tutors covering many types of lace.
For those who cannot do a full weekend, we also run workshops in the autumn.

We do many demonstrations around Nottinghamshire throughout the year, where you can see bobbin lace being made and you can have a go yourself!!
