Passing on lacemaking equipment and books
We are sometimes approached by non-members who have lacemaking equipment and books for sale. We are sorry but we are not able to help. Our members recommend selling through e-Bay and, for really valuable items, it may be worth contacting specialist dealers or auction sites.
If, however, you are a member of the Nottingham Bobbin Lace Society, here is some guidance about selling through the Society’s general meetings:
- There is no Members’ Table at the Summer Lace Day but at the other four Lace Days you may bring up to 10 items to sell. They must be in a bag that includes a price list headed with your name. 10% of your takings will go to the Society unless you are donating the items. Even if donating, please provide a list headed with your name and, ideally, include prices to help our volunteers.
- You may also sell books and equipment at the regular Pop-in meetings. There is no limit to the number of items you may bring along but, please note, they will be displayed in the refreshments area which is unmanned at times. If you are successful, you may wish to make a donation to the Society.
Please remember to collect unsold items at the end of the day as we have no storage facilities.
